At Seminole Sports Academy, we are blessed to have an amazing group of coaches who dedicate countless hours to helping our athletes develop both on and off the court. Today, we'd like to highlight just a few of the coaches who make our league so special.

🏀 Coach Upshire

Coach Upshire is one of the most requested coaches in our league, and it's easy to see why. His patience with our younger players is second to none. No matter how young a player may be, Coach Upshire takes the time to teach the small details of the game and helps every child build confidence while learning the fundamentals. His positive approach and commitment to player development make him a favorite among players and parents alike.

🏀 Coach Paul

Coach Paul is known for going above and beyond for his players. On many of his days off, you'll find him holding extra practices at local parks for both his recreational league teams and his AAU teams. His dedication to helping players improve outside of scheduled team activities shows just how much he cares about their growth and success.

🏀 Coach Matt McGahey

Coach Matt is widely regarded as one of the top developmental coaches in our league. No matter a player's skill level or experience, Coach Matt has a unique ability to help them improve throughout the season. If he starts with a roster of ten players, all ten players will leave the season better than when they started. His success speaks for itself, having won three of the last four championships in his division. He also has what may be the most active cheering section in the league—shoutout to the parents who bring the energy every game!

🏀 Coach Javi Quinones

Coach Javi is a coach who consistently teaches the game the right way. As one of the coaches who has been with us since the beginning, he has played a major role in building our basketball community. His success spans multiple age groups, winning championships in K–2, 3rd–4th, and 5th–6th grade divisions. His ability to connect with players and develop winning teams at every level is truly impressive.

🏀 Coach Cany

Coach Cany coaches at both ends of our league spectrum, working with K–2 players as well as our 9th–11th grade athletes. His ability to adapt his coaching style to different age groups allows him to get the best out of both first-time players and experienced high school athletes. His passion for helping players improve makes a lasting impact on everyone he coaches.

🏀 Coach Kim

Coach Kim brings a unique perspective as a former player herself. Her firsthand experience allows her to connect with players and teach the game from a player's point of view. She does an outstanding job of motivating her teams and helping them maximize their potential while building confidence and basketball IQ.

These are just a few of the incredible coaches who help make Seminole Sports Academy such a special place for young athletes. We appreciate everything they do for our players and families.

This season's All-Star Games were another great showcase of the talent across our league. We were especially excited to see so many first-time All-Stars earn the opportunity to represent their divisions. Seeing players rewarded for their hard work and development throughout the season is one of our favorite parts of the year.

A big congratulations to all of our All-Star selections, and thank you to the coaches who helped make the event such a success. We are already looking forward to hosting another outstanding All-Star experience during our Summer League season!

Our Seminole Sports Academy Basketball Summer Camps officially begin this Monday, and we expect several weeks to reach capacity.

If you're still looking for a fun, structured, and development-focused summer experience for your athlete, now is the time to register.

Our camps are designed to help players improve their skills, build confidence, stay active, and compete in a positive environment throughout the summer.

🏀 What Athletes Can Expect

Each day includes:
• Skill development training
• Shooting and ball handling instruction
• Basketball IQ and decision-making drills
• Competitive games and challenges
• Live 5-on-5 gameplay
• Team competitions and prizes
• Coaching from our experienced staff

We now offer an Extended Day Add-On that allows athletes to be dropped off early and picked up later.

May 30th will officially be our FINAL regular season game day of the season! We want to thank all of our players, coaches, and families for an amazing season so far.

The excitement continues as the TOP 4 teams from each division will advance to our Playoff & Championship Saturday taking place on June 6th! 🏆

Coaches will also be voting on players to participate in our All-Star Game on June 5th. Selected players will be announced soon!
